Well if you haven't heard, on Thursday 4th August, an unarmed Mark Duggan, 29, a black,local youth from Tottenham was gunned down at close range by police officers, who thought he was armed. This lead to his demise from which he died after having sustained a shot to the chest and arm. He left behind a girlfriend and many loved family and friends.
Many youths and older members of the community were, appalled, saddened and annoyed by this unfortunate act of torture. As a result the outraged and angry fueled mobs all over London took to the streets, to do a so called peaceful demonstration. However it turned out to be fueled with violence, theft, damage and many injuries and even death.
Let's hope that such a devastation will not arise again.
Many shops and stores had been effected with looting.
Even a car shop had a few cars set on fire.
More destruction to the streets of Ealing. One can even see left over boxes from looting.
Residents and customers in shock at what has happened to their, once peaceful community!
Even a church was targeted, but thanks to the quick thinking of neignbours, there was little damage.
Peace at last. We hope there will never be a repeat of this horror again.
